Mission & Objectives

Mission:

  • To reduce the incidence and impact of stillbirth by increasing awareness, research, education, and encourage advocacy and family support regarding stillbirth.
  • To prevent as many still births in India that occur after 28 weeks gestation, and to improve the quality of care received by families whose baby is stillborn through spreading awareness, education, advocacy and quality research and by timely identification and intervention in pregnancies at risk of still birth.

Objectives:

  • To reduce the incidence and impact of stillbirth by increasing awareness, research, education, and encourage advocacy and family support regarding stillbirth.
  • To decrease the number of preventable stillbirths, by timely identification and evidence-based intervention, through dissemination of knowledge and sensitization of healthcare workers and the general population.
  • To plan and conduct research into causes of stillbirth.
  • To create a database of information through a national registry.
  • To prepare and disseminate patient education materials to healthcare professionals, the general public, families about any risk that exists and how to manage or reduce that risk.
  • To host scientific meets: CMEs, Symposia, conferences, dedicated to the theme of stillbirth prevention, facilitating a platform for scientific exchange of knowledge.
  • To create a database of information through a national registry.
  • To publish newsletters, blogs, educational videos and podcasts to bring current relevant information from the experts to our constituents.
  • To develop a set of rules, prescribing standards of professional conduct of members of the Society and norms for its Professional Membership.
  • To collaborate with other organizations, national and international, with similar objectives to achieve the Aims and Objectives of the Society.
